Beer at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will not be sold during the games, but only 3 hours before the match and one hour after

The sale of alcohol during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be limited.

According to Reuters, citing its sources, beer will not be sold during the games, but only 3 hours before the start in specially designated areas in front of the stadium and an hour after the end of the match.

During the game, only non-alcoholic beer will be sold.

In Doha's central fan zone, alcohol will be sold from 6:30 pm to 1:00 am throughout the tournament. At previous Mundials, beer was sold all day long.

It is not yet clear how alcohol will be sold until 13.00 — 4 matches are scheduled for this time.

Recall that the sale of alcohol and public consumption are prohibited in Qatar, and it cannot be imported from duty free zones. The exception is foreigners who, with permits, can buy alcohol in the only specialized store in the vicinity of Doha.
