Well-known Ukrainian coach Roman Sanzhar told where and what he is currently doing.
— We were surprised to learn that you are now in Australia. Tell us, are you already used to the new climate, the new country?
— To be honest, I still haven't been able to get used to it. Now in Australia, in fact, it is winter, because when it is summer in Ukraine, it is winter here. But the winter here is quite warm: with a daytime temperature of 15-20 degrees Celsius, at night it drops to 7-10 degrees Celsius. During the six months that I spent in Australia, there was a lot of rain here. They say that this was not the case before, and their climate has simply changed.
— Did you feel like in England with this weather?
- You can say that, probably (laughs). Moreover, Australia was founded by the British, so it is close to Great Britain.
— What are you doing in Australia?
- Now I'm learning English. I also spend time with my son and family. I am trying to adapt and I am mainly engaged in teaching and English.
— What do you like most about Australia?
“I don’t know, it’s hard to say something now. There are rules and discipline here. Everything is a little different here. Even the rules of the road: for example, in Ukraine there is right-hand traffic, and here it is left-hand traffic. Therefore, it is very unusual when the steering wheel is on the right side and everything moves in the opposite direction.
It was very unusual at first, now I have already adapted, so everything is fine. I also like the nature of Australia, there are many beautiful places and different animals.
— What is the main difference between Australia and Ukraine?
- I think that the difference is in everything - in particular, in the work of the state itself. They take everything more seriously here, high discipline. If we talk about driving, then there are big fines, control, cameras. In general, everything is more strict than in Ukraine. Great discipline in everything. The climate here is also completely different.
— You live in Sydney, have you met Ukrainians in the city?
— Yes, I met Ukrainians on the streets. There are many of our people here, from Odessa and other cities.
