Rudiger's agent: "Chelsea's former owners did not want to keep the defender"

Saif Ruby, the agent of ex-Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, said that the club's former owners did not try to keep the player.

"The old regime didn't make any decisions to keep the player. At the time, he wanted to stay and potentially captain the club. He was offered a contract that was half of what Romelu Lukaku was earning.

"Real" offered the lowest money. There was a club in England that was willing to pay twice as much, and another club from Europe. I am not going to discuss the details. Everyone knows there were teams interested in Rudiger. He was one of the best in the world. This prompted Carlo Ancelotti to invite him to Real Madrid, Saif Ruby told talkSPORT.

We will remind that in the summer transfer window Antonio Rüdiger moved to Real Madrid as a free agent.
