Women football referees in Spain have gone on strike demanding higher wages and better working conditions.
“We have made the decision not to play matches in the current labor and economic situation. We want to return to the field, but under appropriate conditions,” the strikers said.
The strike was announced a few days after the first Spanish referee took part in the men's Champions League match - Guadelupe Porras assisted Carlos del Cerro in the Napoli - Liverpool (4: 1) match.
