Newcastle have signed former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius, but his official unveiling will take place later due to mourning in England over the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Less than a week after the summer transfer window closed, Forties boss Eddie Howe has been forced to look for free agents due to an injury to second team goalkeeper Carl Darlow. 29-year-old Karius has signed a short-term contract with Newcastle.
During his six-year deal with Liverpool, the German goalkeeper spent two years on loan at Besiktas and had a stint at Union Berlin before completing the final year of his contract at Anfield.
