Oleksiy Belik: "When Ukraine liberates all its lands, I'm sure there will be a rise not only in football"

Former striker of the Ukrainian national team Oleksiy Belik told how he sees the near and distant future of Ukrainian football.

— It will definitely be a very interesting championship. The margin of safety of Shakhtar and Dynamo, even though there is a war in the country, cannot just disappear, if only because these teams are headed by people who have always loved football and invested heavily in it. In the championship race, Shakhtar and Dynamo still remain favorites.

There are prospects for the development of our football. It is absolutely clear that we need to do more youth football. Improve, and now rebuild, infrastructure. But first, the main thing is that the war ends as soon as possible and everything returns to its normal course. Ukraine returned to the borders not only on February 24, but also liberated all its lands. And then, I am sure, there will be a rise not only in football. In the meantime, there is time to rethink everything,” Belik said.
