Ukrainian specialist Maxim Kalinichenko commented on his appointment as the head coach of the Estonian Levadia, which was officially announced the day before.
“I worked as an assistant head coach in Ukraine, Latvia and Russia. In addition, as a football player, I saw the handwriting of several different coaches. When Levadia contacted me, I felt that this was a very good opportunity for me to test myself as a head coach.
I have watched a lot of matches with Levadia and I have a picture that I want to see in the team in the future. It is clear that in football the main thing is the result, but at the same time I want to play in a style that would be attractive to the audience as well.
As the season draws to a close (The Estonian championship is held according to the spring-autumn system, and 28 out of 36 rounds have already been played in the tournament - editor's note), I felt that I did not want to make big changes in the team. That is why we are not attracting additional coaches yet. At the end of the year, we will review the situation, and I think that then we will receive replenishment both in the list of coaches and in the team," Kalinichenko said in a comment to the press service of Levadia.
