Bochum fired head coach Thomas Reiss on Monday after six consecutive defeats in the German championship.
In the 6th round, the "Unbreakable" lost to "Schalke" (1:3), which was the last straw for the club's leadership. AFTER the opening six matches of the championship, the team is in last place in the table with a difference of 4:18. Rice led Bochum in 2019. The team's former midfielder won the second Bundesliga the very next year.
Heiko Bucher, coach of Bochum's under-19 team, will temporarily replace Rice as head coach.
