The Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport told interesting details about the episode with the undistributed goal of Juventus striker Arkadiusz Milik in the match of the 6th round of Serie A against Salernitana (2:2).
In Italy, there is a certain gradation of championship matches, during which a different number of television cameras are used. Category A matches are filmed by 18 cameras, others - 16 (category B), less important - 12 (category C). Thanks to this, Serie A can save around 20,000 euros per match.
The match between Juventus and Salernitana was in category C and was broadcast by the least number of cameras. In Turin, all the cameras, which are designed for offside detection, were available. However, in the episode with Milik's goal, none of them showed the position of Salernitana defender Candreva, so the VAR referees could not get the full picture.
