Celtic and Rangers fans traditionally have radically different views on important political events. The death of Queen Elizabeth II was no exception.

Everything was obvious right away when the Rangers changed their logo on social networks to "black and white" and went into mourning, and Celtic did not react to the loss of the monarch in any way. The story continued in the Champions League matches.

UEFA allowed British clubs to honor the queen with a minute of silence before the second round matches. Celtic did not use this right, limiting themselves to black armbands at the match against Shakhtar.

Fans of the "Celts" expressed their position more radically. The banner "To hell with the crown" appeared on the stands. They also laughed at the death of Elizabeth II, remembering the freak who broke into the Queen's bedroom in 1982: "We're sorry for your loss, Michael Fegan."

In addition, during the match against Shakhtar, the Celtic fans shouted: “Splash louder if you hate the royal family.”

Fans of the Rangers, on the contrary, had the queen as beautifully as possible before the game with Napoli. Despite the UEFA ban, crowded Ibrox played the God Save the Queen anthem after a minute of silence a cappella. The Rangers deliberately took the penalty.

In a flash mob, fans turned one podium into a large flag of Great Britain, and also unfurled a large silhouette of Elizabeth II and the inscription "Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 1926 - 2022".

The Celtic fan base has a strong anti-imperial stance and is highly critical of the UK's actions in Northern Ireland. Supporters of the Rangers, on the contrary, advocate unity and consider themselves loyal subjects of the royal family.
