Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri became the youngest player in the history of the English Premier League.
The head coach of the Londoners, Mikel Arteta, released the team's young pet on the field in the 90th + 2nd minute of the match with "Brentford" (3:0). The teenager trained with Arsenal's first team for the first time this week. The Spanish coach was impressed with the midfielder's performances for the under-21 team.
Nwaneri made his Premier League debut at the age of 15 years and 181 days. Before that, the youngest player in the championship was Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott, who made his debut at the age of 16 years and 30 days. Arsenal's youngest ever debutant was Cesc Fabregas, who made his League Cup debut against Rotherham in 2003 at the age of 16 years and 177 days.
Nwaneri got his chance as Arsenal were without key players including captain Martin Edegore and left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko.
