Mourinho: "To get a penalty in Serie A, you have to be a clown"

Roma head coach Jose Mourinho commented on the defeat in the 7th round of the Italian championship against Atalanta (0:1).

"This match was the easiest to win this season. With Monza and Cremonese, we didn't have the upper hand for the whole 90 minutes. Today we dominated, created many chances. The team played a great match.

In the first half, there was a clear penalty on Zaniolo. After the match, the referee told me that he didn't award a penalty because Zaniolo didn't go down. Therefore, I have to change the approach to training, tell the players not to stand on their feet, not to play with the ball, but to be clowns who dive in the opponent's penalty area, like in a swimming pool. That's the only way to get a penalty in this league," DAZN quoted the Portuguese as saying.

It should be noted that the referee of the meeting, Daniele Kiffi, sent Mourinho off in the second half for the coach's emotional appeal about the non-awarded penalty against the same Zangolo.
