According to the source, the leaders of some influential European clubs support the idea of holding matches in other regions. Among them is the president of PSG, a member of the UEFA executive committee, Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The heads of the clubs do not exclude the possibility of holding Champions League matches in the USA, China, the Middle East - in the largest markets.
On the other hand, everyone understands that the idea will meet resistance from fans in Europe. Therefore, outside of Europe, the opening matches of the group stage, and not the decisive matches, can take place.
Another option for expanding the audience is to move the UEFA Super Cup outside of Europe. In addition, the Union of European Football Associations is already considering the possibility of creating a mini-tournament in which the last winner of the Champions League and three more "leading teams" would take part.
