Andriy Yarmolenko: "We support each other, it's always been like that and it will always be like that"

Midfielder of "Al-Ain" and the national team of Ukraine Andriy Yarmolenko talked about the League of Nations match against Scotland (0:3).

Andriy Yarmolenko

— I said yesterday that we will play against a strong opponent. From the hot tracks, it is difficult to say that we did not succeed in terms of tactics. You have to sit down, watch and figure it out. I think we will do it tomorrow. And let's draw conclusions. Congratulations to Scotland on a well-deserved win, they created a lot of chances and won. But in our group, nothing is finished yet. We need to stay positive. We have two games to go and it's all up to us. Everything is in our hands - we need two wins.

I think that today in terms of self-sacrifice, the coaching staff has no complaints against anyone. This is football, it happens. It was clear that in the second half the Scots changed their tactics - they didn't let us play the ball. They deprived us of our strong qualities, we like to work with the ball. And I had to adapt to their game - emotional, without control, attack after attack. We were losing the ball a lot in our half of the field and that's what they needed, it was after our mistakes that they created their chances.

We need to get out of defense better when we are pressed. In the game with Ireland, we also did not have everything in this component. Of course, we support each other, it has always been and always will be, our captain said on the UAF Youtube channel.

Любить работать с мячом недостаточно, надо еще уметь.
