Journalist: "If Petrakov wins - and not renew the contract with the coach who completed the task? This is ridiculous"

Host Ihor Tsyganyk named possible candidates for the position of head coach of the Ukrainian national team. After all, under the conditions of defeat by the Scots, the Ukrainian national team may be left without a helmsman.

"It's simple mathematics, there is no other way out. If Petrakov wins tomorrow, why not extend the contract with the coach who completed the task and led the team to League A? Well, that's funny. If Petrakov loses, a question arises here. He didn't make it to the World Cup, he didn't win in the National League, and what to do with this coach? Let's imagine that UAF decides to look for a new coach. Who? Ribs? Rebrov has a six-month contract. They have already tried to negotiate with that Al-Ain, to pay them money. Arabs say, listen, we are not interested in money. For us, respect is key. If the person works, we do everything, then please let us pay you extra to get off the hook.

It makes no sense to count on Rebrov for half a year. He can host the team only in the month of May. In March, the selection for the European Championship starts. We will play two matches. The next two matches are in June. You have to let the person play the whole cycle, the whole year 2023. Who will train the national team for three months and who will start in the selection for the European Championship if we wait for Rebrov for another six months?

Who can become a coach? Myron Markevich, Yuriy Vernydub, Viktor Skrypnyk, a foreigner... But how to derail this situation? I believe that if Petrakov can win tomorrow and take the team to the A League, UAF will have no choice but to offer him another year's contract and give him the opportunity to win the selection. Then Rebrov flies past the national team. There are no other options," Tsyganyk said.
