Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin, in an interview with The Athletic, criticized FIFA for a contract with Russian television to broadcast the 2022 World Cup.

“How is it possible that all over the world they have ceased to have contacts and do business with Russia, but at the same time, FIFA retains a television contract with Russia for the World Cup? It's incredible. Perhaps FIFA does not understand what is happening in Ukraine. Perhaps Infantino should come to Ukraine to personally see what is happening and what kind of help we should receive from FIFA," Palkin said.
