Newcomer of Dynamo Kyiv, midfielder from Jamaica Kahim Perris, shared his impressions of his debut for the Ukrainian club. The 22-year-old midfielder played for the White-Blues for the first time last Sunday, in the match of the 5th round of the Ukrainian Championship with Minay (1:0), coming on as a substitute in the 76th minute of this meeting.
- What emotions do you experience in connection with the debut?
— Fantastic feeling! There is nothing better for a football player than to play his first match for such a big club, now you need to keep working hard and move on.
- You spent 15 minutes on the field, is it difficult to show your best qualities during such a time?
— Yes, but these are only the first minutes. I am sure that I will still have a lot of time and enough games to show my best side to both the fans and the coaching staff. I repeat, you need to try and work.
- Is this a day that you and Justin Lohnwijk will remember for a long time?
— Yes, definitely. For both of us, today is an important and big day, I will never forget it. I am very glad to be in this team. The most important thing is that the team won today.
- In a few weeks at Dynamo, you have already visited Lviv and Uzhgorod, did you like these cities?
“They are really very beautiful. We did not have enough time to walk around and enjoy the architecture to the fullest, but I noticed that you have very nice and smiling people, even in such a terrible time.
— How was the first month with the new team?
“The guys greeted me very warmly, it’s nice. I feel good.
- Who do you communicate with the most?
- With all the guys who speak English. I spend more time with Lonwijk, we became friends and live in the same room. Together it is easier to adapt and learn a new team. But, I repeat, I communicate with many guys - we have a fantastic team.
- When will you start speaking Ukrainian?
- Very soon. I don’t understand anything yet, but I will definitely learn Ukrainian. I already know a couple of words, for example, "good evening" (smiles).
