Sviatoslav Sirota"I have not served and have always been a civilian. Adaptation passes very quickly after the first "arrivals" and the first attacks. With a machine gun and other weapons, you make friends instantly. It does not take a lot of time. If you want to live, you will learn quickly.
The guys, who have been fighting since 2014, say that this has never happened in history - even during the Second World War. The number of artillery increased. Even now, war has also changed. Our task was to defend, and now we attack. These are different tasks.
Everything was simple for us: to hide as much as possible from artillery fire and stay alive. Well, fight back and dig. This is it. All military people know that the most important thing is to be able to dig, dig and dig, because only underground can you stay alive.
Many people think that the army is something so romantic. First of all, it is something pragmatic and dirty. You wash once a week, and sometimes once every two weeks. There is nothing romantic about it. This is very hard work. But it is worth it, because thanks to it, people in the rear are able to live a normal life," said Sirota.
