Dynamo Kyiv newcomer, Dutch midfielder Justin Lonwijk, commented on his debut for the White-Blues in an interview with club TV. Recall that the 22-year-old footballer played for Dynamo for the first time last Sunday, when in the match of the 5th round of the Ukrainian Championship with Minay (1:0) he came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute of the meeting.

- I am very happy that I played my first minutes in such a wonderful club. I'm glad if I helped our team win this victory even a little. We played "to zero" and took three important points.

This match became my acquaintance with Ukrainian football. Basically, we dominated, controlled the ball. We could have scored a lot more, but the main thing is that we won.

- On the morning of the match, did you already know that you would play?

- Not. But I hoped that they would give me a chance to enter the field. I am very happy that this happened.

- How did the head coach of Dynamo receive you?

- We talked, he said that he knows my abilities well, but I need more time to learn a little about the team. Adapt, understand the requirements of the coaching staff and the mentality of the team. I think that I will quickly cope with this task, because I am very interested in this. The guys took me very well.

Today I received congratulations after my debut. We have a very friendly team, they constantly prompt me, translate and even explain if I don’t understand something. I am very grateful to the team for such an attitude.

- How did you decide to move to a club from Ukraine during the war in our country?

— I had something to think about before moving to Ukraine. I talked with my relatives and confidently decided to move to Dynamo. I sincerely hope that the war will end and your people will live in peace.

— Have you already started learning Ukrainian?

— Yes, I started at the airport when I was heading to Dynamo for the first time. This is a very difficult language, there are different letters. I still can't read and I don't understand anything when I hear something. However, I really want to fix this and learn your language.

— What are your first impressions of Ukraine?

— We spent several days in Lviv, but the weather and lack of time prevented me from getting to know this city. But I really liked Kyiv - an incredibly beautiful, soulful city. To be honest, I can't wait to be there again. Not in a hotel, but in the city to enjoy it.

— What could you say to Dynamo fans now?

“I want to wish peace to all Ukrainians. And to Dynamo fans, thank you for your support and warm welcome. Together we will win!
