Officially. Ukraine entered the joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup with Spain and Portugal

The official website of the Royal Spanish Football Federation published a message on the inclusion of Ukraine in the general application for hosting the 2030 World Cup.

“The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) have included the Ukrainian Football Association in the bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The proposal has the unconditional support of UEFA in a global project to transform European football in an exceptional situation.

Luis Rubiales and Fernando Gomes, leaders of the RFEF and FPF, understand that there is nothing better than the World Cup to convey a message that will serve as an inspiration for the future. With the full support of Aleksander Čeferin, the project brings together the EFA to build bridges and spread the message of unity, solidarity and generosity across all of European football.

The candidacy strengthens Ukraine's ties with Europe, instilling hope and providing tools for recovery to the Ukrainian people, who have expressed their pride and gratitude for participating in this project.

The 2030 World Cup Coordinating Commission headed by Antonio Laranjo is already working with the participation of Ukraine, the commission will soon include members of its delegation. The addition of Ukraine does not change the established roadmap: Spain retains its 11 stadiums, while Portugal retains three.

The candidacies of Spain, Portugal and Ukraine have been approved by both governments and heads of state. We believe that the global football family will accept and support this initiative. Welcome, Ukraine, to the World Cup! Forward, 2030!” - the statement says.
