Barcelona President Joan Laporta announced plans to erect a statue in honor of the club's graduate, Argentine striker Lionel Messi.
“We will build a statue of Leo Messi outside the Camp Nou. The decision has been made”, — quotes the words of Laporta Goal.
Messi got into the structure of Barcelona at the age of 13. He played for the first team of the club from 2005 to 2021. During this time, he played 776 matches for Barca in all competitions, in which he scored 670 goals and 302 assists.
In 2021, Messi moved to the French PSG. His agreement with the Parisian club runs until 2023.
