Gerrard is one game away from being fired as Aston Villa manager

Aston Villa head coach Steven Gerrard could be sacked as early as tomorrow, according to the Daily Mail.

According to the source, the 42-year-old specialist will face resignation if Aston Villa does not get a positive result in today's match of the 10th round of the Premier League against Nottingham Forest.

The reason for this is the unsatisfactory results that Aston Villa are showing this season. Gerrard's team won only two out of eight Premier League matches and, as a result, takes only 16th place in the standings, being two points from the "relegation zone".

It is also reported that the leadership of Aston Villa has even formed a shortlist of potential successors to Gerrard. It includes Mauricio Pochettino (currently without a club), Bo Svensson (Mainz) and Brendan Rodgers (Leicester).
