Yaremchuk and Sobol Brugge played a historic match in the Champions League on the bench

In one of the matches of the 4th round of the Champions League group stage that took place on Wednesday, the Belgian Brugge played a draw with Atlético Madrid (0:0) and this result guaranteed their exit from the group.

Club Brugge players celebrate reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League

Two rounds before the end of the group stage, Brugge scored 10 points. Porto is in second place with 6 points, Atlético is in third with 4, Bayer is in fourth with 3. Thus, given that Atlético and Porto are still waiting for a face-to-face match, below second place is Brugge ' won't go down.

Note that Brugge for the first time in the history of the club reached the playoffs of the Champions League. At the same time when this tournament existed as the European Cup, the Belgian team once reached the 1/8 finals in it (in 1991), and this is so far the highest achievement of Brugge in European competition.

We add that both Ukrainian legionnaires of Brugge - forward Roman Yaremchuk and defender Eduard Sobol - did not take part in the historic match of their current team with Atlético. Both of these performers spent the entire game on the bench.
