Oleksandr Babich: "Dynamo has some kind of failure..."

Well-known Ukrainian coach Oleksandr Babich told what he thinks about the problems of Dynamo Kyiv in the light of another defeat of Mircea Lucescu's team in the Europa League. Recall that yesterday the "white-blue" again lost to the French "Rennes" (0:1) and lost their chances of reaching the playoffs of the tournament.

Alexander Babich

- I immediately noticed that Rennes analyzed in detail the situation with Dynamo goalkeepers and often tried to hit the Kiev team, despite the obvious unpreparedness of some shots, Babich noted. — The guests had an advantage in a one-on-one game, due to which they got out of pressure very well. And again about the "standards"... "Rennes" is very dangerous when corners and free kicks are played, which led to a goal against Neshcheret.

- Is Sirota to blame for the conceded goal, not seeing the opponent in the center of the penalty area?

- Yes, the Rennes player outwitted Sirota with a false move, due to which he won some 20 cm, and this was enough for an advantage in the scoring episode. I note that not everyone knows how to play one on one ... In addition, in such a confrontation, it is easier for an attacking player to break away than to keep him.

- "Dynamo" again did not score and in general almost did not create anything at the "Rennes" goal. Has the problem gone anywhere?

- Judging by the line-up that turned out - Besedin and Garmash, I thought that the people of Kiev would try to create scoring chances through active flanks. But the opponent from the first minutes neutralized everything that Dynamo had in mind. What was left? Throwing the ball behind Besedin's back is not an option, given Artem's not very high speed. Therefore, it turned out that the Dynamo team acted practically without an attack. Their efficiency in attack was very low.

— You could have tried something else, the so-called plan "B"...

- Due to the organization of the game from defense, with counterattacks - yes, it was possible. Unfortunately, we didn't see it. Dynamo decided not to play second number, continuing to play on the ball. But "Rennes" skillfully overcame the redoubts of Kiev, surpassing the opponent individually.

- Before the second match with Rennes, there was a lot of talk about the fatigue of the Dynamo team, who have to travel a lot, and had to recover and train. Was it noticeable in the duel with the French team?

- Fatigue affects the game, but not to the same extent... When I headed Chornomorets and Mariupol, we had transfers for five and 20 hours, with transfers... Nothing, we coped. I would like to note that under Lucescu, Dynamo have always been distinguished by good physical readiness. But now there was some kind of failure, where there are errors in the training process. "Rennes" was more mobile, and it was very noticeable. It also seems to me that Dynamo players have significant psychological fatigue, an emotional hole. The fact that the team does not have a result hits the players very hard.

- Mircea Lucescu, wanting to improve the situation, made a lot of substitutions half an hour before the end of the match. What can you say about their effectiveness?

- Not everyone, unfortunately, was able to enter the game ... Karavaev and Kabaev usually act more creatively. Andrievsky has a good shot. But neither they nor others could strengthen the game. What Lucescu wanted to do with these substitutions did not work out. Previously, Karavaev and Ovcharenko went out and made the result, but now everything is not so ...

- Why doesn't Lucescu use recently acquired legionnaires in such matches?

- It seems to me that in the next matches the Dynamo coach will trust them more. By the way, I was surprised when the newly acquired Kabaev immediately went out to play the "base". As a rule, coaches wait for the full readiness of beginners.

- Did this result of Dynamo in the Europa League group surprise you?

- After a stable and good level of performance of the people of Kiev in the Champions League qualification, more was expected from them in the Europa League. And individual mistakes led to the fact that Dynamo performed unsuccessfully in the second-ranked European Cup tournament, and in general may remain outside the European arena this autumn. True, there is a positive in this - Dynamo will lose the burden of responsibility for European cups and will be able to pay more attention to the Ukrainian championship.
