"Dynamo" defender Oleksandr Karavaev talked about football and emotions during the war.
— When the full-scale invasion just started and it was not yet known what would happen to the Ukrainian championship, did you have thoughts of leaving Dynamo and joining a European team?
— Everyone immediately started thinking about transferring or something else, such a situation. But first, you don't know how you should leave, because there is no such law, in principle it is possible that you show a transfer document, etc., but I wasn't interested in that.
— What was the most difficult for you during the championship period during the war?
- Probably the fact that the family was not near me at first. These are feelings for relatives. When they already went abroad, then it became much easier and calmer in moral terms.
— As for physical exhaustion, it must also be difficult?
- Well, relocation is already secondary, compared to the problems and experiences that people have and the fact that my relatives were in the occupied territory and not in safety, so it is not so difficult. When you understand what the situation is now, all these problems fade into the background and that's it.
— What was the most impressive and moving moment during the war?
— It is impressive, perhaps, even to this day, the moment that all our people, not only ours, but also foreigners, rallied together and helped each other. I have many acquaintances in Kherson, and they themselves offered me and my family some help, although I understand that they do not have a very good financial situation, but they still want to help. That's when you realize that people may not have anything, but they will give their last to help someone.
