The youth national team of Ukraine U-17 has started a training session dedicated to the preparation for the qualifying round of Euro-2023. About how the team will prepare for the tournament, its head coach Yuriy Moroz told the official website of UAF.
— Yuriy Leontiyovych, on October 15, your team started preparing for the qualifying round of Euro-2023 (U-17). Are you okay?
- All is well. We gathered at the base of FC "Rukh". Our working conditions are excellent, so it remains only to prepare fruitfully for the competition. We will train in Lviv until the 21st, and then we will go directly to the venue of the tournament in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where we have to play the first match against Azerbaijan on October 24.
— Will there be a control match?
— Yes, on October 19, we plan to play with "Rukh" U-19.
- Do you have all the football players you wanted to see?
— In principle, yes. We even have two legionnaires in our team. This is the goalkeeper of the Czech "Slavia" Marko Kessel and the defender of the Austrian "Salzburg" Artur Bakay.
— What will be emphasized during the preparation for the qualification round?
— Since 70 percent of football players have game practice, more emphasis in work will be placed on tactical training.
- Did you manage to study the opponents in the group?
— At our disposal are materials from the matches of Azerbaijan, Liechtenstein and Bosnia and Herzegovina. There is enough information about opponents, we keep everything under control. Now it is important to correctly reveal to the guys the strengths and weaknesses of the opponents, so that the team understands what awaits it in this tournament.
