Neymar appeared before a court in Barcelona over the start of a transfer case from Santos to the Catalan club in 2013, AP reports.
Neymar's parents, former Barça president Sandro Rosell, and representatives of the management of both clubs also appeared in court to answer the accusations of the investment company DIS. At the time of the transfer, she owned 40 percent of the player's rights, but in the end she received a very small share of the money actually paid by the Catalans.
Neymar, his father and agent are accused of corruption. The prosecution is asking for two years in prison, while DIS is demanding five years for the 30-year-old football player, compensation in the amount of 34 million euros and a fine of 195 million euros, which will go to the Spanish treasury. Rosell could be sentenced to 10 million euros and five years in prison.
