Source: Setanta will broadcast the championship of Ukraine until the end of the season, but the clubs will not pay a penny

Well-known Ukrainian TV commentator Viktor Vatsko spoke on the air of Vatsko live about the future of broadcasting matches of the current Ukrainian championship on the basis of the Steanta Sports broadcaster.

“Information that Setanta is refusing an agreement with the UPL on broadcasting matches of the Ukrainian championship is really going around the corners. And the company, in principle, has reasons for such a step, because the UPL has not fulfilled its obligations.

At first, it was said that Setanta would stop broadcasting the matches of the Ukrainian championship altogether. But now they say that some agreements have been reached that Setanta will finalize this season to the end. But she won’t pay the clubs: the clubs won’t get their money, because the UPL didn’t keep the agreement on its part,” Vatsko said.

Recall that on the basis of Setanta Sports it was planned to create a single TV pool for broadcasting matches of the championship of Ukraine, but this proposal did not suit five UPL clubs, and their matches are shown by the 1+1 media group. The useless attempt of the UAF and the UPL to make a scandal on this ground turned out to be a failure for these organizations: the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that secured the rights of Ukrainian football clubs to broadcast their home matches on TV.
