Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood has been released on bail after he was accused of attempted rape.
The 21-year-old attacker was also charged with uncontrollable behavior and physical abuse. He appeared before Manchester Magistrates' Court on Monday and remained in custody. An application for release on bail was filed today with Manchester Magistrates' Court. After the hearing, a representative of the court stated that the request was granted on the condition that Greenwood would not contact the witnesses in the case, including the accuser, and would live at a certain address.
Greenwood, who did not attend the brief hearing, will again appear in court on November 21. All three charges concern the same woman. The 21-year-old attacker was initially detained in January after photos and videos surfaced online. He has since been released on bail, but was arrested on Saturday for violating the terms of his release. Hours after the accusations emerged at the beginning of the year, Greenwood, who has one cap for England, was banned from playing and training with United.
