The squads for the 2022 World Cup will be announced on Friday

The coaches of the national teams that will take part in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar must submit their preliminary lists of players for the tournament before Friday, Reuters reports.

All 32 coaches must submit a list of a minimum of 35 and a maximum of 55 players by the end of the respective day as the first step in the selection process. Mentors will then have until November 14 to narrow down their final selection to 26 players. FIFA will publish the lineups the next day. The final squad must be selected from among the players listed in the preliminary list and cannot be changed at the last minute.

The expanded lists provided by the coaches will not be published by FIFA, but some countries may do so themselves if they choose to provide more information about the players selected.
