On Sunday, October 23, in the match of the 9th round of the Ukrainian Championship, Dynamo Kyiv tied with Vorskla Poltava with a score of 1:1. What proves it once again is what I constantly tell my footballers: all opponents tune in to us in a special way, and almost always in the match against us they show their strongest game. You have to be ready for this.
It was a masculine, tough game. Physically, we looked good today. But in terms of concentration, everything was exactly the same as in previous matches. A large number of defects in gears, especially in the middle line. Poor advance from first gear. We made a lot of mistakes and lost a lot of goals.
I can’t blame Karavaev on the basis of the episode with a goal not scored, when he didn’t hit an empty net, but this moment clearly demonstrates the situation with the lack of concentration and the presence of stiffness of the players. The same applies to a missed goal: inconsistency in actions. The pass from Neshcheret was not forward, but to the flank, after which the opponent's attack began; then lost duels. These are trifles, but they make up the game, the result. As in previous matches, everything was again decided by individual mistakes.
It is important how quickly we can get out of this state. The players are dominated by the result, and this only increases the stiffness. This leads to a lack of courage in crucial moments when you need to take risks - the fear of taking risks and making mistakes comes to the fore. The absence of key players is also felt - Bushchan, Zabarny, and even more so Shaparenko. In this situation, special responsibility falls on the most experienced players - Tsygankov, Sidorchuk and Buyalsky. From this, difficulties arise for them.
Finally, it should be noted that the referee missed a couple of fouls today. It makes the players nervous. In the previous match, there was a penalty in Tymchik. There are also questions about the removal of Zabarny: Sirota in that situation was three meters away from him. Refereeing mistakes also lead to nervousness. Today there were moments that could be interpreted more clearly. In our favor. These moments also affect football players purely psychologically. Our game suffers from this. Hence these mistakes and nervousness.
- How would you rate Lohnwijk's game?
- Played well. His presence on the field is an acquisition for the team. He will add more. A young player with good physical qualities, with a good shot and the ability to make the right decisions on the football field. He has a good future. So it all depends on him.
- When can we expect Bushchan's return?
“First of all, I’ll let you know that Dubinchak has a broken rib. He was out for at least two weeks. As for Bushchan, he has already begun to train, but exclusively individually. It is impossible to risk forcing his return to the game. Even so, Buschan's game gives confidence to the team, especially to the defenders. Our biggest loss is Shaparenko, who could always speed up the game, pass, break through, beat ...
I am sure that in this championship all teams will lose points. In every game they all fight. Who thought that the current Vorskla would take away points from us after two defeats?
- Do you see a problem with the forward? If yes, how are you going to solve it?
— Yes, there is such a problem. I expect more from Vanat. He has all the qualities of a striker that can make him a good striker. We are waiting for him to gain experience and skills. Our mistake is that we relied on our personnel, and in the very delicate situation in which Ukraine found itself, we had to react - to take Ukrainian football players from abroad. This is what other clubs have done.

- Probably, we should be satisfied with the result, but at the same time we need to improve our game. Especially in attack. We had a very difficult start to the season. Then they managed to win twice, after which defeats came again. And after that - the match with Dynamo. We were very worried. But we tuned in to that game and that fight that we showed today.
We would not have been able to play the whole match in open football against Dynamo. We understood this, so we "closed". As a result, in the first half, our opponent had very few chances to score. Then we conceded ourselves, but we are glad that we managed to level the score.
I love playing against Dynamo, I love playing against teams that can play good football. Now Dynamo is being scolded a lot, but you should understand how the team started the season — they had to boost their form. This form has passed, and now the team is looking for itself. In this regard, I would like to see the same understanding in relation to Vorskla: we left a lot of legionnaires, the team has been updated. Now for us every game is like an exam.
If they had told me before the match that we would play 1:1, then I would have been satisfied. So now I'm happy. Especially since we had scoring chances. So we are satisfied with the result - we do not want to anger God. Now, with confidence and hope for an improvement in the game, we will prepare for the next matches.
- Based on the results of today's match, can we say that Riznyk is now 50% of Vorskla?
- Maybe yes. But we saw it from the other side as well. When he makes individual mistakes that lead to goals, the percentage you're talking about goes down. (Smiling). We are glad that Dima played this way today and saved us in a number of episodes. I think that Riznyk deserves to be called up to the Ukrainian national team.
- Was there a penalty kick against Dynamo in the middle of the second half?
- I would very much like to. When a player of your team falls in the opponent's penalty area, the entire coaching bench immediately shouts: "Penalty!". But to be honest, the moment you are asking about is debatable. The judge made a decision. We accepted it and in no case do we cry.
