Dnipro-1 head coach Oleksandr Kucher commented on his team's victory over Metalist Kharkiv (1:0) in today's match of the 9th round of the Ukrainian Championship.
“It was very difficult for us today. After the match with Ingulets, we had a lot of injured players, and today two more fell out during the match. Therefore, it turned out to be a very difficult game for us. It was like the derby between Dnipro and Kharkiv since ancient times, and everyone had their own ambitions. We were opposed by a good team, which is at the top of the standings and takes its place in the game there. So it was very difficult.
Metalist played well in defense and created problems for us in attack. Yes, perhaps our opponent didn’t have many chances, but he constantly kept our defense in suspense. And this nervousness in the game was constantly felt. But we won three points today, we are going to heal our wounds and prepare for the next matches, because we have a very difficult schedule and it will not be easy for us further.
I can honestly say that we do not look at competitors, but play on our own. We prepare for each match as if it were the last one, and we will continue to do so. It will be very difficult for us, because we have a lot of injured people. I don’t even understand who we will play in the next match. Perhaps we will “subdue” someone and the guys will be able to play,” Kucher said after the match with Metalist.
