English Aston Villa announced the appointment of a new head coach of their first team - the well-known Spanish specialist Unai Emery.
According to the official website of this club, the 50-year-old Spaniard will begin his duties from November 1, when he receives a work permit in England.
As head coach of Aston Villa, Emery replaced Steven Gerrard, who, we recall, was dismissed at the end of last week due to the team's poor performance in the starting segment of the season (15th place in the Premier League standings after 12 rounds).
We add that Emery's last job was the Spanish Villarreal, which he has been coaching since the summer of 2020. According to unofficial information, Aston Villa paid Villarreal 6 million euros to terminate the contract with Emery.
