Andriy Pyatov: "I realized that it's too early for me to finish"

Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov shared his emotions after the first match of the season.

Andriy Pyatov

- Thanks! I am very pleased that the coaching staff gave me a chance. There was jitters because I hadn't played for a long time. Like any player, there was excitement in the first minutes. But that's normal, that's why they love football. I always say that if there is no longer a slight excitement, such a note, then football should be finished. Therefore, I realized that it was too early for me to finish.

- Very soon you can beat Sokolovsky's record. What can you say about this?

- I'm not chasing personal records. Yes, I am very pleased that I have been playing for a long time and I am already approaching such an achievement, but the main thing now is the victory of the team. Therefore, I thanked the guys and coaches for the fact that everyone treated this match responsibly. And it's good that they played to zero.

- Igor Jovichevich said that you are an assistant to the entire coaching staff. Do you feel more like a player or a mentor now?

— First of all, I am a player. I have a valid contract, I also take the field, and coaches can count on me. But, secondly, I, like Taras Stepanenko, like Sergey Krivtsov, we are more experienced, and since our team is young, then with our experience and everything we have, we must help the guys. Now everyone is celebrating our team, but this is one whole: our experience, everything that we have done, and young people who have great prospects.
