Borussia Dortmund and Germany national team striker Marco Reus will miss the World Cup in Qatar due to injury, Sky Sports reports.
The 33-year-old player suffered the injury in the match of the 7th round of the Bundesliga against Schalke back in September. Initially, the doctors' forecasts regarding the player's participation in the World Cup were encouraging, but two attempts to return to the field led to a recurrence of the injury.
According to the source, it is the rupture of the ankle ligaments that will prevent Reus from participating in the World Cup. This could become the second World Cup for the forward in his career. In 2014, he also had to miss the championship due to injury.
