The 22nd FIFA World Cup kicks off today, this time to be held in Qatar.
As in the previous World Cup, 32 teams will play in the tournament. At the group stage, they are divided into eight groups - four teams in each. Teams that finish first and second in their groups will advance to the 1/8 World Cup.
The opening match of the 2022 World Cup will take place today, traditionally, the hosts of the tournament, the national team of Qatar, will play in it, and the national team of Ecuador will be its opponent. The match between Qatar and Ecuador kicks off at 18:00 Kyiv time. The rest of the World Cup matches will start from tomorrow.
