An episode with a terrible injury overshadowed yesterday's World Cup 2022 match between England and Iran (6:2).
Already in the 8th minute of the meeting, the goalkeeper of the Iranian national team, Alireza Beiravand, received a strong blow to the head from his compatriot Majid Hossein, who simply did not notice that the goalkeeper was too close to him.
As a result of this collision, Beiravand ended up on the lawn with a bloodied face, and the doctors of the Iranian national team tried to return him to the game for 14 minutes. But all the efforts of the doctors were in vain, and the goalkeeper left the field on a stretcher.
Subsequently, it turned out that Beiravand suffered a broken nose and concussion. In this regard, he will no longer play at the 2022 World Cup.
