The forward of the Netherlands national team, Memphis Depay, spoke about the difficult start of the season in Barcelona. The forward appeared on the field for the first time in 18 months, playing 28 minutes in the World Cup group stage match against Senegal (2:0).
"I'm very happy to play again. It took me a long time to come back. It was mentally challenging, but I worked hard to get to the World Cup and I played for half an hour. It's incredible to be playing football again.
We have a great team that can improve throughout the tournament. I don't want to think about the past, I focus only on the World Cup. I also don't want to look ahead, I don't know what will happen after the World Cup," Depay was quoted as saying by Goal.
