French national team striker Olivier Giroud helped the team win the first victory at the 2022 World Cup against the Australian national team (4:1).
The 36-year-old forward scored a double, scoring in each half. For Giroud, these were the 50th and 51st goals in the national football team in 115 matches played. Olivier equaled the legendary Thierry Henry with 51 goals, but it took him 123 games to do so.
Thus, Giroud can become the best scorer in the history of the French national team if he manages to score at least one more goal.
