According to ESPN, after the fight, disappointed fans of the Belgian national team staged a pogrom in Brussels. The fans overturned and burned the car. One person was reported to have sustained a head injury.
The Metropolitan Police were forced to use water cannons and tear gas to disperse the hooligans. Part of the center of Brussels was also blocked.
