The match began in a “classic” way: Metalist lined up in their entire half of the field, and the Dynamo team began to methodically look for gaps in the opponent’s dense defensive formations. For a long time, Lucescu's wards lacked the last pass, the last blow, but in the 20th minute of the meeting the score was opened in the match - it was Buyalsky who skillfully executed a free kick, sending the ball around the wall exactly at the "nine" of Metalist's goal - 1:0.
The goal didn't affect the pattern of the game at all - it was still going on with the full advantage of Dynamo. Perhaps the Kharkiv team began to cling to the ball more often, but they failed to translate this into some kind of meaningful counterplay.
But Dynamo, in the 28th minute of the meeting, was close to success - it was Lonwijk who immediately closed a flank cross with a shot from the goalkeeper's line, the ball flew exactly under the crossbar, and only Kostya's brilliant reaction managed to rescue Metalist from the right goal. However, just a minute later, Dynamo's second goal still took place: after Tsygankov's crossed serve into the Metalist penalty area and the fight for the ball, he got to Vanat and, in fact, bounced off his foot into the goal - 2:0.
Moreover, in the 33rd minute of the match, the same Vanat burst into Metalist's penalty area from the left, shot, but Kostya was on top again. Dynamo attacked in the future, right up to the whistle for a break, but there were no other opportunities to build on their success.
The second half at first also took place under the full control of Dynamo. Metalist played as if the current score on the scoreboard was at least a draw. Only occasionally did the events of the meeting move to half of the field of Kiev, and the rest of the time Dynamo continuously attacked Kharkiv, who, as before the break, defended in full force. And in the 63rd minute of the match, the "white-blue" created another scoring chance - it was Kendzera, who joined the attack of his team, bitingly shot from outside the penalty area - the ball flew right into the goal, but Kostya managed to react and parried this blow with his foot.
The situation in the game began to change closer to the middle of the second half. Dynamo slowed down and began to play by the score. Metalist immediately tried to take advantage of this. And in the 73rd minute, the Kharkiv team had a chance to shorten the score: Kaplienko broke into the Kiev penalty area from the left and powerfully shot into the near upper corner — Buschan switched the game to a corner kick with some difficulty.
But in the end, it all ended with a goal in the other goal: in the 76th minute, Tsygankov sent Kendzer into the penalty area of Metalist, who returned the ball to Viktor with a shooting pass, and he immediately hit the target from about the 11-meter mark - 3:0 . At this, Metalist surrendered. The rest of the match was held in the half of the field of Kharkiv. However, the score has not changed.
After the games played, Dynamo shares the 2nd and 3rd places in the standings with Shakhtar Donetsk (both teams 30 points each), five points behind the leading Dnipro-1. But at the same time, the Pitmen played two games less, and Dnipro - one less.
We add that Dynamo completed the first part of the 2022/23 season on this. After a few more postponed matches are played this week, the Ukrainian championship will go on a winter break. The matches of the next, 16th round of the championship will be held in the first days of March 2023.
