Former Shakhtar Donetsk defender Ismaily, who now plays for Lille, commented on the war in Ukraine.
“The situation is difficult. Imagine that your country has been taken over by a neighboring country that wants to take over your territory. This is a completely absurd war. I communicate with people. Here, in France, live two people who worked with me in Ukraine. I help them and their loved ones. They tell us what happens there every day. This is very sad.
It is difficult to understand what the Ukrainians are going through now. There is a lot of suffering. But I still communicate with some people from Shakhtar and I hope that everything will improve in the near future," Ismaily said in an interview with Lille's official website.
