Carlos Queiroz, head coach of the Iranian national team, announced his resignation after the 2022 World Cup match against the United States.
“Guys and dear friends, there is no shame in not achieving your dream while you are fighting for it and doing your best. I'm proud of you, you were great again on and off the field. It was an honor for me to be part of this football family. I believe that you deserve respect. I wish you happiness, success and health. Thank you," Queiroz wrote on social media.
Recall that the national team of the country, which actively supports Russia in the war against Ukraine, dropped out of the World Cup, losing in the last round of the group round to the United States (0:1).
