For Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Vitaliy Buyalsky, the final match of the first part of the season against Metalist Kharkiv (3:0) turned out to be special - he scored a goal, which became his 10th in the current Ukrainian championship. This is Vitaliy's personal record, as he previously only managed to score 9 goals (in the 2019/2020 and 2021/2022 seasons). In an interview with a correspondent of the official club website, the Dynamo player spoke about his achievement.
Vitaly Buyalsky— I don’t even know what exactly led to an improvement in my performance. Most likely, everything is in a complex - and he began to prepare more correctly, and he began to play closer to the attack, and luck played its role.
- Despite the fact that your position has not changed, have you begun to perform more tasks in the attack?
- Yes, my position has not changed, it just happens lately that I am more often in the penalty area, so I have more chances.
- How do you manage to feel the moment where you need to be in order to score?
— Everything depends on the confidence of the player. When you score one or two goals, this confidence is very felt, and with the help of it you can move on.
- Before, you scored more from the field, today you managed to score from a free kick. How did you decide with Tsygankov who would play the set piece?
- Vitya told me to hit, because it was not very convenient for him to strike from that position - and he offered me. It turned out that he shot into the corner from the goalkeeper. But usually Vitya hits free kicks. God forbid that Kolya Shaparenko return to service as soon as possible - then he will beat. I don’t particularly aspire to this role, since I don’t train standards on purpose (smiles).
- Only half of the championship has passed, and you already have 10 goals on your account, after the winter break, will you continue in the same spirit?
- I don't get hung up on the number of goals scored - I have already talked about this many times. For me, the most important thing is that the team wins. And what will happen in the second round is hard to say. You don't know what will happen tomorrow. There is a war going on in the country, if you wake up and everyone is alive - this is the main thing that matters. Therefore, I don’t even think about how many I will score in the second part of the season. When the war ends, then in football and in any other work there will be only positive emotions.
- Then, probably, it makes no sense to ask about your participation in the scorers' race, in which you are now in second place?
- Yes, this is not a priority for me, I'm not 20 years old. For me, the priority is the team and team results.
— Do you remember the seasons when you scored 9 goals?
— Not particularly, but I know that it was relatively recently. It turns out that stability is a sign of mastery (smiles). As I said, this is probably due to the fact that I act more in attack and more often I am in the opponent's penalty area. The team creates chances, the defenders take the ball and start our attacks, and the midfielders have to dispose of it correctly.
- Are your goals not only the result of simulated combinations, but also improvisation?
- Of course. What we work on in training, various combinations, is difficult to carry out in games with some opponents in the championship, since they are defended by a large number of players, and it is difficult for us to open such a defense. Therefore, in many matches we were not able to score - either we hit the defenders, then the goalkeeper, then we hit wide.
- Today was the final match of the first part of the season, what are your plans for the near future?
- I will spend my entire vacation in Kyiv. And also, perhaps, we will visit our parents in Kalinovka for the holidays.
