Head coach of Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih Yuriy Vernydub talks about the progress of his team this season.
“I will say this: when I came to Kryvbas, there was no team as such. Yes, there was Kryvbas itself, but many players refused to return from abroad. There were young people, but I saw that with these young people it would be difficult to achieve high results.
Therefore, I had to work on the transfer market, especially in the summer. Football players were invited, but when they asked where we would play and base, we answered that in Krivoy Rog. After that, they refused us, although we have all the conditions: a good new base, high-quality training fields. I think if we played in the West of Ukraine, they agreed. Then the front line passed close to Krivoy Rog.
But we invited other players. Those who really wanted and were not afraid. It was necessary to mold from this team the one that would give results. Slowly, we reached the required level and began to win. This is the main thing,” Vernidub said.
