Well-known football expert, former midfielder of the Ukrainian national team Yevhen Levchenko spoke about his volunteer activities.

Evgeniy Levchenko

— What is the situation in your native Konstantinovka now?

“Many friends stay there. I communicate with the guys from Ugledar. It's hard to talk about it. My wife and I collect money, warm clothes. We help as much as we can. Now we have collected more than 100 thousand euros in four days. We will buy generators and equipment to help Ukraine survive the blackout. It is very important for me. I think that football players can help not only on the battlefield.

— Tell us more about the volunteer movement in the Netherlands.

— There are many different ideas. They have already agreed with the supplier of generators that will go to the most difficult points in our country. I believe that my duty will help to survive the winter in the most difficult conditions. I spoke with several companies that helped to collect a truck with warm clothes, thermal underwear, shoes. I am very glad that companies like Action and Joe Merino are not left out.

My friend, at the invitation of the Red Cross, went to Ukraine. In the Netherlands, he is a very famous person. He tells me: “I have seen so much. For me, it's horrifying what happened there." He was in Bucha, Irpin and near the border with Belarus. It was very important for him to see everything with his own eyes. We agreed that I would come to the program and we would collect money.
