“This is a blow... But it must be sustained,” Grigorchuk about Chornomorets’ lost victory over Rukh with a score of 2:0

Head coach of FC Chornomorets Odessa Roman Grigorchuk summed up the results of yesterday's postponed match of the 14th round of the Ukrainian Championship with FC Rukh Lviv (2:2). It should be noted that after the first half, the "Sailors" led in this meeting with a score of 2:0, but after the break they conceded two goals and thereby missed the victory.

“This match is definitely among those that were absolutely winning for us. For all components of football. But, unfortunately, it all ended like this... This is a blow... But you have to hold on to it and move on.

It happens. The first half in our performance - no questions at all. Everything was in our hands, we controlled everything. In the second half, the situation changed a little, but even here we missed chances to close all questions regarding the outcome of the match.

Somewhere in my subconscious it was that since the score was 2:0, we could play a little more carefully and with less risk. But it never helps. In such cases, it is necessary to achieve from the team such a psychological state and staging of the game in order to continue to control what is happening on the field, to continue to control the ball, to play the game, to create scoring chances. In the second half, this was not enough for us. I can't say that it was a disastrous 45 minutes - I repeat, we had the opportunity to bring the game to victory. But at the same time, there were also mistakes that led to goals against our goal," Grigorchuk said at a press conference after the match with Rukh.
