Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Viktor Kornienko spoke about the competition in position with his team's newcomer, former Dynamo Kyiv defender Bogdan Mykhailychenko.
“For me, competition is not a tragedy. No. Healthy competition is very cool for every footballer. He grows when he knows that he has a competitor.
We have known Mikhailichenko for a long time. We maintain the relationships that have been established in the past. When he came to Shakhtar, I was not afraid. On the contrary, it’s good that I have a competitor. Now I have an injury, and Mikhailichenko has the opportunity to show himself. And when I return, I will have to work hard to reach my level," Kornienko said in a comment to the Shakhtar press service.
Recall that Mikhailichenko moved to Shakhtar last summer. Donetsk team have the defender on loan: the Belgian Anderlecht owns the transfer rights to him.
