Pope Francis refused to watch the final match of the 2022 World Cup, in which the national teams of Argentina and France met, because of a promise made thirty years ago, reports Ukrinform with a reference to the Italian publication La Repubblica.
According to the report, the pontiff, who is an Argentinian by nationality, vowed not to watch television since July 15, 1990, after Argentina's 0-1 World Cup final loss to Germany.
