Mykola Nesenyuk: "FIFA could have stopped the war"

The well-known journalist Mykola Nesenyuk - about the role of FIFA in the war, which was unleashed against Ukraine by a stupid foreign country called "Russia".

"I was sure then and I still am sure that in the spring of 2014 the International Football Federation could have prevented the war. It was only necessary to deprive Muscovites of the right to host the 2018 world finals in response to the aggression in Crimea and eastern Ukraine. Then they were still hiding, masquerading as "little green men" and removing license plates from military equipment. They did not know how the world would react to it.

The world did not react. "Concern" doesn't count. If they were then deprived of the football final, it would be a powerful signal. At that time, blood had not yet been spilled and the aggressor countries were not ready for war.

Instead, everything remained as it was. Imagine that in the summer of 2018, thousands of Ukrainians went to the enemy to play football, and some of our journalists painted the Moscow football holiday in vain.

What about FIFA? Let's not forget that the exclusion of Muscovites from football was a consequence of the Poles' refusal to play qualifying matches with them this March. What if they were not Poles? Maybe then we would see not only Macron on the podium of yesterday's final...

That is why Zelensky is indignant that he was not given a chance to speak before the final. FIFA is by no means helping us in the war. We'll find out somehow..." Nesenyuk wrote on his page on the Facebook social network.
